Detailed Description
One of the very few 100% rye northern American whiskies, Lot 40 is a rich Canadian Rye. Elaborated at the Hiram Walker & Sons distillery in Ontario, Canada, this expression is made exclusively from locally grown rye. Distilled in column still and a second time in a copper pot still, Lot 40 was then aged in virgin American oak casks paying a tribute to the original whiskey style made by the first North American master distillers.
Lot No. 40 Canadian Whisky is made from a mash of 90% Canadian rye grains and 10% malted barley. The grains are mashed and fermented, before being distilled through copper-pot stills and matured in premium, white oak casks. The whisky has an aroma of sour rye bread, earthy minerals and nutmeg.
